Journalism is an interesting industry. There are problems that need to be taken care of such as the lack of spotlight on Black voices, and the lack of trust in journalists to do their job properly.
As a young journalist entering the industry, there are a lot of things to be wary of – especially being a young black woman entering the industry.
"Women, younger journalists/media workers and members of BIPOC or LGBTQ2+ face more online harassment than others, and greater severity of harassment," said Ipsos in a research report about Online Harm in Journalism.
The personal attack journalists get is extremely unnecessary.

Not the most enticing thing to know before getting into a job — but the work we do is important. Without good journalists, we wouldn't know what's going on in the world or what truth is.
Contrary to what many people believe, journalists seek the truth. Whether or not the truth, is pleasant.
